1. Original setup at work - facing the window with a view of the Sheraton car park and the occasional glimpse of a Lycra-clad lovely in the hotel gym. The drawback being that I have my back to the door and, therefore, cannot see inbound bosses or staff.
2. Original setup birthday style - arrived in the office at the crack of a sparrow's fart to find my desk decorated thus. Any VP reading this should note the beer and wine was not consumed on company premises.
3. New setup at work- rotated through 90° to give me a chance of i) speaking to the colleague with whom I share the office and ii) minimising whatever non work-related activity I am engaged in when folks visit.
4. On-call arrangements in my home office before it was finished. Not quite extreme ironing but it serve a purpose when I was paged in the small hours.
